LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) -- The Loggers had not seen the team from Alexandria in four years, but that did not stop them from collecting a 7-3 win Sunday night.
Nick Day extended La Crosse's early advantage over the Blue Anchors. Day drove a home run to right field in the 2nd inning to make it a 2-0 ballgame.
Alexandria kept it a close game. Keegan Dale sneaked a base hit into centerfield plating a pair of Blue Anchor baserunners in the fourth. That evened the score at three.
Day, however, went on to have a day. The Loggers third baseman blasted a base hit off the wall in left to help him tally four RBI total in the game.
The win improved La Crosse to 12-10 on the second half of the season. The Loggers have an off-day Monday before resuming the two-game home series against Alexandria on Tuesday night.
