LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Police are investigating a break-in at Kroner's True Value Hardware in downtown La Crosse.
According to a police report, nothing was taken from the store. Instead employees were left with a strange message.
Someone typed "WE ARE WATCHING YOU" on a first floor computer, the report said.
It happened sometime between 5:30 p.m. Friday and 8:30 p.m. Saturday morning.
According to police, a key cutting machine on the second floor was taken from a work bench and placed at the top of the stairs, a medicine cabinet was opened, and a side door was also left partially open.
It looks like the person or people who broke into Kroner's entered through the roof, the report said.
