ALTURA, Minn. (FOX 47) -- Fire destroyed a shed Monday morning on a dairy farm in rural Altura.
The fire started about 10:30 a.m. at Speltz Farms at 15778 County Road 30.
The farm's owner, Philip Speltz, said that he and his son noticed smoke coming out of the shed, but by the time they began pulling machinery out, the building was engulfed.
Crews arrived on scene just in time to save the building next to the shed, but everything caught in the fire was a total loss.
"Mostly their hay, much of their baled hay for quite a bit of their season was unfortunately lost, and some of their haying equipment," said Richard Lueck with the Altura Fire Department.
Speltz said there was no electricity installed in the building and crews don't know yet what caused the fire.
Altura, Rolling Stone, and Plainview fire crews responded.
