Viterbo MBB releases schedule

La Crosse, Wis. – Viterbo University Men's Basketball has announced their 2013-14 schedule for this coming season. Although the schedule may be subject to some late changes, the core of the schedule has been set.
"While we have put together one of the most challenging schedules in the history of the program, I have always felt that the Viterbo Basketball program has been built around playing a tough schedule," commented Head Coach Wayne Wagner. "Taking on major challenges like this coming season holds has really put Viterbo Basketball on the map, and made our teams better in the process."
The 2013-14 schedule is highlighted with two exhibition games at NCAA Division I schools and a regular season date at NCAA Division II Winona State. The V-Hawks play in the Resch Center at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Sunday, November 3 following the regular season opener at Silver Lake College (Manitowoc, Wis.) on November 1. The team will then travel to North Dakota for an exhibition game with NCAA Division I March Madness hopeful North Dakota State University (Fargo) on Friday, November 8; which will coincide with a game at NAIA II 2013 National Tournament qualifier, Valley City State University in Valley City, ND.  The Division I NDSU squad returns their complete rotation from last year's Summit League Tournament runner-up team that just missed a trip to the Big Dance. The schedule also includes a regular season date at NCAA Division II power and 2012-13 Elite Eight participant Winona State University on December 17.
"We don't necessarily have any great visions of grandeur in terms of major upset victories in some of these games, but we see them as tremendous opportunities to experience college basketball at the highest levels and to treat them as great measuring sticks for our team," stated Coach Wagner.
