Western Tech joins a conference

La Crosse, WISCONSIN — Starting this fall, Western Technical College's volleyball and basketball teams will join the Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC). Western is the first Junior College outside of Minnesota to participate in the 15-member league.
The MCAC colleges are part of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIII.  By joining the conference, Western's teams will be able to compete for conference championships and individual conference honors.
Western athletics have been independent since the Wisconsin Technical College conference folded five years ago. The college's baseball team will continue to play as an independent.
