Madison, WISCONSIN (WXOW) The battle for the starting quarterback job for the Badgers will not be decided for quite a while.
The competition picking up Tuesday on day 2 of camp.
Right now, the best way to describe it is Curt Phillips is 1A, Joel Stave is 1B and Tanner McEvoy is the wildcard.
Each player brings something different to the table.
Phillips has the experience of a sixth-year senior.
While, McEvoy has the ability to be a dual-threat.
"I feel like I can do anything. I feel like I can be a drop back passer or I feel like I can hand the ball off to the great running game that we have and I feel like I can run the zone read and scramble around a bit. I mean if I just learn each thing each day which I already have an idea for and just go out there and execute it on the field I should be alright," said McEvoy.
"It's frustrating having to earn your keep three years in a row now but at the same time now it's exciting. Every year I've been here we've been in a quarterback competition so I'm used to it. I think the biggest thing is not looking over your shoulder and making the most of the reps you get," said Phillips.
The Badgers will hold scrimmages the next two Monday's.
