Pregnant? Mayo has an app for that

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- If you're pregnant, Mayo Clinic Health System has an application for your cell phone.

Mayo just launched the app called ‘Mayo Clinic on Pregnancy,' a guide that details what to expect during pregnancy and then first few months of parenthood. You can enter your due date and receive weekly updates along with tips on  staying healthy during the pregnancy.

Once the baby is born, the application provides information on everything from soothing the child to breast feeding. Doctors from Mayo developed the smart phone tool.

"There's photos they can reference, high quality photos that they can see for commonly scene conditions and help with some of the postpartum symptoms, postpartum blues or depression and kind of communicate those concerns with providers or even family members," said Dr. Gokhan Anil, an OB/GYN at Mayo Clinic Health System.

The app is free and available in the app store for Apple products. An Android version is in the works.
