C-Section May Increase Baby's Allergy Risk

Undated (WXOW) – Skipping a cesarean, if possible, may actually lower your child's chance of having allergies.

According to Swedish researchers, babies born naturally pick up good bacteria from their mom's birth canal. These germs help train the baby's immune system to recognize things such as peanuts or bee venom.

Babies born by c-section skip this trip and skip the helpful bacteria. The researchers behind the new study found that c-section babies had fewer types of good bacteria compare dot those born naturally.
