LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Former colleagues from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse gathered today for a reunion at the Cleary Alumni Center.
They were able to share old memories and talk about what they've done since retirement.
They also read the names of those who once taught for the College of Education at UWL and have since then passed.
Professor Burt Altman, who helped put together this reunion says, "Most people who are part of this institution perceive themselves as a part of an extended family and so it's like being with long lost relatives."
About 20 retired colleagues came and this is the first time they've collectively gathered as a group.
Chancellor Joe Gow joined in on the festivities and says that the faculty are just as involved today as they were when they were working for UWL.
Gow states, "The fact that these faculty, many of whom retired some years ago, are still passionately committed to our university is a wonderful thing."
