Former Viterbo athlete joins WIAA

STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Kassie McGettigan has been hired to fill the Ticket Coordinator/Business Operations Assistant position vacancy at the executive office in an announcement made by Executive Director Dave Anderson. She will begin her responsibilities on Aug. 26.

"Kassie is obviously a great student whose skills, training and interest in athletics are broad and deep," Anderson said. "We believe she will bring fresh perspectives and ideas to our ticketing and business operations."

The ticket coordinator position is responsible for ticketing operations for the Association's 25 State Tournaments. Among the business operations duties include yearly inventory of office equipment, preparing investment schedule for audits, compiling tournament travel reimbursements for member schools and preparing quarterly investment reports for the Board of Control in addition to other duties as assigned.

McGettigan graduated from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wis., in May with a bachelor's degree in business administration. She majored in sports management and leadership with a minor in accounting. She is a four-time letter winner in volleyball and was named Midwest Collegiate Conference Academic All-Conference in each of her four seasons. She was named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Scholar Athlete two times and participated in numerous volunteer and fundraising efforts on campus and in the community.

Her sports management experience includes serving as an intern for the Mississippi Valley Conference in 2013 and for the Department of Recreation Sports at Viterbo in 2011. In addition, she coached club volleyball from 2009-13 with a tournament director internship with the club in 2012. Other experience includes coaching and officiating volleyball for the Holmen, Wis., Park and Recreation Department in 2012.
