Madison, WISCONSIN You could call this the "separation scrimmage" for the Badgers.
They held their second open scrimmage Monday at Camp Randall Stadium.
Head Coach Gary Andersen wasn't ready to name a starting quarterback, but the offense showed more signs of progress.
Joel Stave got the first reps with the starters.
He led them on a touchdown drive to open the practice.
Curt Phillips was next up.
He connected with Alex Erickson on a 20-yard touchdown toss.
Phillips has been the most consistent quarterback.
He and Stave are still neck-and-neck.
"It was good for us to get things clicking. If you've been to practice you know we've done some very good things during practice. But practice is not games. It was good to see us make some plays down the field," Andersen said afterwards.
The Badgers open the season August 31st at home against UMass.
All in all, Andersen was happy with the work of his entire offense.
