Green Bay, WISCONSIN (WXOW) - Aaron Rodgers return to practice Wednesday was one of the few bright spots on bad day as far as coach Mike McCarthy was concerned.
Rodgers looked no worse for wear after a day off due to a head cold.
Normally, he would be gearing up to play into the third quarter of this preseason game.
But it doesn't appear that will be the case against Seattle.
The coaches want to get a longer look at Vince Young in this game, along with a number of other players.
So Rodgers understands the reason if he has a lighter workload.
"Nothing like live reps when they matter in the preseason, even though they don't technically count in the win loss column. It's important to get out there and thinking about the right kind of things, and making plays while not making mistakes. There are a lot of young guys out there, so mistakes are going to happen; it's interesting to see who is going to separate themselves in the live game action," Rodgers said.
The Packers host Seattle at Lambeau Friday night.
It's a 7pm kickoff.
