WATERLOO, Wis. (AP) -- A sixth victim has been reported in a listeria outbreak linked to Wisconsin cheesemaker Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese.
An update Thursday from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the sixth case was reported in Texas last month. The others were reported in July. They included two in Minnesota and one each in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. One Minnesotan died.
The Waterloo-based company recalled three varieties of soft cheese -- Les FrΦres, Petit FrΦre and Petit FrΦre with Truffles -- which were distributed nationwide.
Federal and state regulators say Crave Brothers halted all production as a precaution when it announced the recall, and they're reviewing the company's corrective actions before authorizing it to resume.
Company officials didn't return calls seeking details.
