LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – It was a night for music at the Great Rivers Folk Festival.
Saturday night's concert on the UW-La Crosse campus featured folk, Americana and blue grass music.
The tunes will continue throughout the weekend.
Sunday people can attend instrument workshops, interactive sessions with festival musicians, and a singer-song writer competition.
"A lot of these artists are very independent artists so this is where they get an opportunity to really share their music with a lot of people. And there really isn't that many music places that open up for such an eclectic thing," said David Schipper, who's on the festival's Performers Committee.
Craft vendors and kids activities are also on hand.
