Bucks hoping for more improvement in young shot-blocker Larry Sanders

MILWAUKEE (AP) - General manager John Hammond has spent most of his summer rebuilding the Milwaukee Bucks roster. But he's also made sure 1 of the holdovers sticks around for the future.

He signed center Larry Sanders to a 4-year extension worth approximately $44 million.

The 24-year-old drafted in 2010 is coming off a breakout year. He led the Bucks with 9.5 rebounds per game and averaged a career-best 9.8 points. His 2.83 blocks per game were second in the NBA to Oklahoma City's Serge Ibaka.

Sanders' emotional play has made him a crowd-favorite at the Bradley Center. But he's also been a target for officials, who ejected him a league-leading five times last season. New Bucks coach Larry Drew says he's made it clear to Sanders that has to change.
