COPY-Heat advisory in effect for many counties in WI

MADISON (WKOW) – A heat advisory is in effect for many counties throughout the state due to a hot and humid week.

A heat advisory is in effect for Adams, Crawford, Grant, Juneau and Richland counties until midnight on Tuesday.

A heat advisory is in effect from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday for Columbia, Dane, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Lafayette, Marquette, Rock, Sauk and Walworth Counties.

The 27 Storm Track Team says Tuesday will be the hottest and most humid day of the next seven in the forecast.  The heat index will climb into the 100-105 degree range on Tuesday with actual highs in the low-mid 90s.

Meteorologist Brian Olson says there could be a few isolated storms later Tuesday afternoon and evening, Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, but he doesn't expect any widespread rains.

Weather patterns will remain hot through Sunday, but then cool off considerably in time for Labor Day.
