Wausau police say their search for a convicted felon that ran from them after officers tried to make a traffic stop earlier this month, is now over.
Marathon County Sheriff's Lt. Gary Schneck said Peter Yang was arrested in Wausau on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, Wausau Police say an officer tried to stop Yang after noticing a cracked windshield on the car he was driving.
"The driver slowed down at first and then sped up, leading to a short chase. When the suspect, Peter Yang, did stop the car he got out and ran off," said Lt. Juedes.
Police searched for Yang but did not find him.
They did arrest the owner of the car.
Police searched the car and tell Newsline 9 they found a handgun that was stolen in Tomahawk, along with drug paraphernalia.
Lt. Schneck said the sheriff's department partnered with Wausau Police arrested Yang Tuesday afternoon in a vehicle. There was one other passenger in the car. Police say that person was also taken into custody.
