McEvoy could see action at receiver

Madison, WISCONSIN (WKOW)  Four days until the opener and the Badgers are still keeping quiet on the quarterback front.

When Joel Stave was asked Tuesday if he would start he gave a 'no comment' with a big smile on his face.

We know Tanner McEvoy will not be starting at quarterback but that doesn't mean he won't play.

The 6'6" junior college transfer could see time at receiver or maybe even defense.

Gary Andersen mentioned that possibility Tuesday morning.

"It's mostly situational defense. It's not like I'll be out there on first down or doing things like that. I think it's more situational like late in the game type deals. I mean I'm still a quarterback but if it gets me on the field playing receiver or safety or long snapper, whatever the deal is, I'll do whatever. I just want to get out there and help these guys win. That's really the ultimate goal," McEvoy said.
