LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Mayor Kabat has proclaimed next week as the Week of the Story in honor of the La Crosse Storytelling Festival. The 11th annual Storytelling Festival will be at Myrick Park September 6th and 7th and it will feature stories for all ages including both kid friendly and adults only scary stories on that Friday night. They will celebrate the power of the spoken word with stories told by both national and local storytellers.
Sara Slayton, Chair of the La Crosse Storytelling Festival said, "Storytelling is so meaningful in people's lives. Every day we tell stories to each other, but stories have a way of reaching our heart and mind that just regular speaking doesn't."
The festival will also have a music concert, pig roast, and cabaret show along with the stories. Find out more at: http://lacrossestoryfest.com/
