LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- Still no formal charges filed against former La Crosse Police Lieutenant Brian Thomson.
Thomson was arrested earlier this month and faces drug charges. Thomson spent 15 years with the department but resigned from his post shortly after his arrest.
Thomson did not appear in court Friday, he was represented by his attorney Keith Belzer. Assistant Attorney General Jeff Gabrysiak from the Wisconsin Department of Justice will prosecutor the case. No formal charges have been filed.
In court Friday, Judge Elliot Levine said he will recuse himself from the case and the other four county judges will do the same, but charges must be filed first.
Thomson's next hearing is scheduled for October 2, when charges are expected.
