La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WXOW) - The La Crosse Police Department is teaming up with Dairy Queen to promote safety throughout the city.
Starting Wednesday, Police Officers will be handing out coupons for a free DQ treat to children practicing good safety habits. Officers will look for kids wearing bike helmets, crossing the street at a crosswalk or any other safe habit observed.
Police say this program is a great way for Officers to reward kids for good behavior and a fun way for Officers to make a personal and positive connection with children in the community.
Police will be scattered throughout the city handing out the coupons.
