LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Helping create a better community is the goal of one local organization as they begin their annual drive.
The Great Rivers United Way's goal for their drive is $2.055 million.
Area businesses have been collecting funds for the past few weeks ahead of the official kickoff of the campaign.
On Thursday, these 'Pacesetters' attended a thank you breakfast. The businesses so far have contributed 45 percent of the United Way's goal.
The campaign, which runs through the middle of January, will help support 29 local agencies who provide a variety of services for the community.
