2-month-old baby struck by gunfire in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police say a 2-month-old boy remains in critical condition after being struck by gunfire.

Authorities say the baby's father was holding him outside a home on the city's north side about 9 p.m. Thursday. Police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington says the father told investigators he heard a bang and then saw that his son had been hit in the neck area by a gunshot.

The child is in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center Friday.

No suspect is in custody.
