LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Additional authorities continue to arrive on the scene of a person in the water near River Valley Drive and Gillette Street.
Members of the La County Sheriff's Department are now part of the investigation.
Earlier Wednesday morning, La Crosse Police told WXOW's Kristen Barbaresi that the situation there is "sensitive" and that tracking dogs were called in. Two fire department rescue boats are there as well. Investigators are also looking along the bridge that crosses the La Crosse River at Gillette Street.
Late Wednesday morning, police moved media, including our crew, back from the scene as more police and rescue personnel arrived.
At this point, in addition to the Sheriff's Department, La Crosse Police, La Crosse Fire, Tri-State Ambulance, and the La Crosse Search and Rescue Dive/K9 unit are on the scene.
We will have more for you when it becomes available on wxow.com and on our later newscasts.
