CR Chill back looking to improve

Onalaska, WISCONSIN (WXOW)  The boys of winter are back.

The newest edition of the Coulee Region Chill opened practices for the season this week at the Omni Center.

This will be the first season head coach A.J. Degenhardt leads the team from the start.

He took over as head coach in the middle of last season.

So many of the players that return are familiar with his style.

Degenhardt's approach, build now and make sure you're playing your best hockey in the end.

"I want the team to play it's best possible hockey when the playoffs roll around. I want to be a playoff team. Anything can happen in the playoffs. I want it to be a steady progression from when we got all the guys in last week. I want it to be an up hill climb until the playoffs roll around. I want to play as good as we possibly can at that time," Degenhardt said.

The Chill will host Amarillo this Saturday in an exhibition at the Omni Center.

The public is invited.

Then it's off to Blaine, Minnesota for the season opening tournament starting next Wednesday.
