LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - La Crosse fire fighters are raising money for an important cause.
On Wednesday, fire crews lined up along Losey and State Road and Losey and Mormon Coulee Road collecting donations in their boots from drivers and other passerby's. The money collected will go the muscular dystrophy association. The organization works towards finding a cure for the muscle diseases and other similar ailments.
" It's a rewarding type of fun so you feel good after you're doing it and usually we're well received from the cars driving by and it makes you feel good," says La Crosse firefighter, Todd English.
If you didn't catch the firefighters on Wednesday, you still have two more days to donate. Fire crews will be out at Losey and State Road and Mormon and Coulee Road again Thursday and on Friday at Losey and Mormon Coulee Road from 4 to 6pm.
The Onalaska Fire Department just wrapped up their fill the boot campaign at the beginning of the month. They raised more than $11,000.
