COPY-Jury selected for murder trial of Minn. husband
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A jury has been selected to hear the murder trial of a St. Paul man accused of killing his wife.
Three women and three men were added Wednesday afternoon to the jury for 39-year-old Jeffery Trevino. That brings the total to 14, including two alternates.
Trevino, faces two counts of second-degree murder in the death of his 30-year-old wife, Kira Steger (STEG'-ur). Steger went missing Feb. 22. Her body was found in the Mississippi River in May.
Steger worked as co-manager of a clothing store at the Mall of America. A search of the house the couple rented turned up what authorities allege was blood evidence, leading to the charges against Trevino.
The Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/1aUiOJi ) reports opening statements are scheduled Thursday. The trial is scheduled to last three weeks.
