LA CRESCENT (Minnesota) – Thousands of people lined the streets of La Crescent to watch the King Apple Parade Sunday.
The parade caps off Applefest, the three-day festival promoting La Crescent and its apple industry.
Area businesses and organizations, Applefest royalty, even law enforcement made their way through the city, waving and handing out candy to children along the route.
Ruth Strabley, a La Crescent local, said she's been coming to the parade since the 1960s.
"They put a lot of work and a lot of effort into this all year long and I think anybody around should support it," Strabley said. "We're really happy and we're really proud of it."
