LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)—The Health Department is holding a free Tdap vaccination clinic for adults with out insurance this week.
The vaccine helps protect against whooping cough.
Whooping Cough, or Pertussis, is highly contagious and is easily spread through the air.
It's especially dangerous to babies.
The Health Department said babies can cough so hard they break ribs or pass out.
"The best way to protect babies is by eliminating ways for them to be exposed and they're usually exposed by their parents, by their brothers and sisters, by their grandparents," Christine Berth, La Crosse County Public Health Nurse said.
Clinics will be held:
It's free to people with no insurance and seniors only covered by Medicare Part B.
