LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - The UW La Crosse football team continued a 12 year tradition Monday.
The Eagles hosted their annual football and tailgate party. Kids enjoy one on one time with coaches and players. The partnership between La Crosse's Parks and Rec department and the university has proven to be a great way to get kids out of their normal routine according to organizers.
This event also gives kids the opportunity to hear from the players they watch.
Jared Flick, Recreation Coordinator for the La Crosse Parks and Rec said, "Some of these kids that really follow football in La Crosse come to these games. Its an opportunity for them to come meet them, talk to them, see them, ask them questions, and just see what kind of people they are."
After the skills clinic, the kids and parents enjoyed a tailgate party with the football team serving up brats and hot dogs.
