La Crosse man wins Bass Fishing Tournament


LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Dan Thill of La Crosse, Wis., weighed in a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 30 pounds, 13 ounces Sunday to win the Walmart Bass Fishing League Great Lakes Division super tournament on the Mississippi River at La Crosse. For his victory, Thill earned $5,817.

            5th:    Tom Monsoor, La Crosse, Wis., 10 bass, 29-5, $1,163
            6th:    Mike Kiese, Weaver, Minn., nine bass, 28-15, $1,066 + $300 Evinrude Bonus

 Jason Brenic of Sussex, Wis., weighed in a two-day total of 10 bass totaling 23 pounds, 5 ounces Sunday to win $2,909 in the co-angler division.

The top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings will qualify for the Oct. 10-12 Regional Championship on Kentucky Lake in Gilbertsville, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard and a Chevy Silverado, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger Z518 with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Mercury outboard.
