Badgers avoid placing too much on OSU game

Posted:

Madison, WISCONSIN (WXOW) You never want to place too much emphasis on one regular season game.

The Badgers will not win or lose a fourth straight Big Ten title Saturday at Ohio State.

That being said, this contest will play a huge role.

One of these two schools has earned at least a share of the last eight Big Ten titles.

Remember, Ohio State was undefeated in the league last year but were ineligible for the title.

That opened the door for Wisconsin to play in and ultimately win the Big Ten title game.

So the question is who is the real king of the conference?

"In my opinion, they are the king of the Big Ten right now. This is an opportunity to go compete with a team that's competed in the Rose Bowl the last couple of years," said Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.

"Everyone wants to beat Ohio State. They understand that. That's probably why they play well because they know they're the border everyone is trying to bring down," said running back Melvin Gordon.

"It's far from a championship game. This game will probably just be one game in the conference race," said Badgers head coach Gary Andersen.

Wisconsin and Ohio State kickoff at 7 o'clock in Columbus.

The pregame show starts at 6:30.
