LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)—Air travelers out of the La Crosse Airport may soon have another option, a non stop flight to Dallas-Fort Worth could be coming.
With the help of a $750,000 Small Community Air Service Development Grant, the La Crosse Airport hopes to add a direct flight to DFW.
They chose DFW because it's a popular destination or connecting place for those traveling out of La Crosse.
The grant reduces the start up risks for airlines of adding a new flight in a small community.
"Its not just the final end destination but its also the connecting destinations so Dallas-Fort Worth opens up the Southern U.S. markets as well as the Caribbean and South America markets," Clinton Torp, Airport Manager said.
He said with out this grant adding a new flight may have been possible, but the grant means they can start service quicker.
