HOLMEN, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Local veterinarians Dr. Tom and Jean Thompson, and the staff at Thompson Animal Medical Center, hosted a golf tournament Saturday to raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
More than 80 golfers participated in the Doggone Golf Tournament at Drugan's Castle Mound Golf Course.
In 18 years, the tournament has raised more than $300,000 for CMNH, Tom Thompson said.
A silent auction, raffles and sponsor donations also contributed to the total.
Thompson has been on the board of CMNH since its inception and said the organization is an ideal way to support local children and their families.
"My wife and I have had the unfortunate nature to have lost a couple of children just prior to (joining CMNH). It was just a perfect fit, like a glove on a hand, to get involved with (CMNH)... It's been a fun and great run ever since," said Thompson.
The Oktoberfest royal family made a special appearance at Saturday's fundraiser.
Jean Thompson was this year's Maple Leaf Parade Marshal.
