LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) – Final numbers are not in yet, but organizers are calling the 2013 Oktoberfest a success.
La Crosse Festivals/Oktoberfest President Kam-Lin Roswall said in an average year, 46,000 people come to the Southside Fest Grounds, alone.
She estimates this year's attendance was similar.
Roswall also thinks more people went to the Northside Fest Grounds this year compared to 2012, when the grounds were first transformed into an alcohol-free, family-friendly zone.
"Of course anytime you start something new it takes a year or two for people to realize, ‘Oh yeah, I want to be there.' We saw that trend this year and I just think it's going to continue to build," Roswall said.
Roswall said in just less than a week, the Oktoberfest board will start planning for next year's Fest.
It will be just four days long.
