Town of Liberty, WI (WXOW) – Vernon County Officials are investigating a head on collision in the Town of Liberty.
Officials say at 12:45 pm, Thursday, October 10, Rudolf Ilich, 53, and his wife Tracey, 42, were driving eastbound on State Highway 56.
Jenny Jonquist, 28, was driving westbound and was starting to negotiate a left turn onto County Highway SS. She told an officer her son was crying in the backseat so she turned her head momentarily to check on him and did not see Ilich's car. Officers say both vehicle struck head on and spun to a stop.
Jonquist's and both her children became entrapped inside their vehicle and had to be extracted by the Viola Fire Department. Authorities say Jonquist and her four-year-old daughter were transferred to Gundersen Health System with serious injuries. Jonquist's one year old son was treated and released to family members.
Rudolf and his wife were treated and released.
The accident is under investigation.
