WINONA, Minn. (AP) -- Police say eight people were hurt when a deck collapsed at an apartment building in Winona.
Sgt. Kevin Kearney says four people were transported to a hospital Saturday afternoon and others went to there on their own. Kearney says it's not clear how many people were on the second-story deck when it gave way.
Winona Health says of eight people treated there, one was transferred to another facility for a higher level of care.
WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) -- Five people are injured after a second-floor deck collapsed at an apartment in Winona Saturday afternoon during homecoming festivities.
It happened just after 2:30 on the 100 block of West Mark Street. The Winona Police Department says at least eight people were on the deck when it fell. Police believe most of the people involved were college students.
Four were transported to the hospital and one person was later admitted and treated. Police are investigating what could have caused the deck to collapse.
