Missing sex offender found near Prairie du Chien

UPDATED - Grant County authorities found the convicted sex offender who cut off his monitoring device and disappeared on Sunday.

Police arrested 46 year old Willard Tyler near Prairie du Chien.

Officers went to his home to arrest him for violating his parole when they found his monitoring device on the floor of his home.

He was found a short time later.


Prairie du Chien (WXOW) --- The search is on for a Prairie du Chien sex offender is missing after police found his ankle monitoring device cut off on the floor of his home Sunday.

Police attempted a Probation and Parole arrest Sunday night at 517 East Blackhawk Avenue in Prairie du Chien.

After no answer at the door, police gained access and found the device on the floor.

A nationwide alert was sent electronically immediately after finding the device.

The subject Willard D. Tyler, 46, male, white, 5'08", 180lbs is a registered violent sex offender and was released to Prairie du Chien in 2011.

If you see Tyler please call law enforcement immediately.
