FORT MCCOY, Wisconsin (WXOW) - More soldiers trained at Fort McCoy this past fiscal year according to numbers released on Thursday.
More than 125,000 troops spent time at the fort for basic and extended combat training. That's up roughly 3,000 personnel from the year before.
The numbers came from the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security. The fiscal year runs from October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2013.
The training included military exercises and training sessions by medical units, Army Reserve, National Guard, and Marines.
The exercises included aircraft exercises involving C-17 and C-130 aircraft flying between the fort and nearby Volk Field.
