LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW)-- A man accused of firing a gun near Riverside Park will spend two years in prison and three years on probation.
Kenneth Yahnke pleaded guilty in august to possession of a firearm by a felon. According to the complaint, the 32-year-old randomly fired a 22-caliber gun near the park several times. Luckily, no one was injured.
In court Tuesday Yahnke denied firing the weapon and said he only had it in his possession.
"I think you're probably going to spend some significant time in prison and I'm hoping that it is productive," Judge Ramona Gonzalez said at sentencing. "I'm hoping that this time around they're ready to listen and you're ready to talk."
Yahnke is also serving time for charges in Monroe County.
