LA CROSSE, WI (WXOW)-- Some Viterbo University students did some early trick or treating for cans not treats on Wednesday.
It's a part of the University's entrepreneurial action club's, Enactus, annual food drive.
The students went door to door downtown La Crosse collecting non perishable food items.
They're competing in Campbell Soup's "Lets Can Hunger Drive" against other Enactus clubs around the country.
"Not a lot of excuses for older folks to go out trick or treating so this gives people a reason to go out and support something that is really great for the community," Jacob Klatte, Food Drive Coordinator said.
All of the donations picked up went to the Hunger Task Force.
Students said they enjoy partnering with them so their donations are spread out because the Hunger Task Force is a food bank helping many food pantries in the area.
