La Crosse, Wisconsin ---- A La Crosse home is getting a lot of attention for its Halloween decorations. The owner says decorating this big wasn't the initial plan. Each year Sue Hill added a few more decorations and a lot of lights. Now it's become a Halloween tradition.
Sue Hill says Halloween on Johnson Street in La Crosse...4 years ago...was nothing to right home about. "We didn't even have anyone coming to the house and it was so depressing that I just started adding more things." And by more things...she means animated displays of ghosts, goblins....and other scary things especially lights.
Allison Bastit lives down the street. "It looks a lot cooler at night then it does during the day." Rachel Barnes Hathaway says it's the best house in the neighborhood. "I wish I had the time to set mine up like this cause I love all the decorations." Lauren Mikat thinks its cool too. "I can't believe how much time she spent on it."
Sue gets more than foot traffic. People come from all over the area drive here to see her display. The older generation likes it just as much as the kids. Charles Robinson saw the news and thought he would take a look for himself. "The decorations are just great. Everything she's done. The energy that she's put into it."
Sue says it's just as much fun to her. "It's bringing back traditions from the olden days when everybody use to do it...so it's makes me feel good.
Sue says she'll keep the display up until Sunday, November 3rd at 10 PM.
