GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - A field-goal try is no longer a question mark with the Packers.

After a rocky 2012, Mason Crosby is back on sure footing in Green Bay.

Crosby was selected the NFL special teams player of the month after making a league-leading 13 field goals in October.

Crosby also has helped bail out an offense that has struggled in spurts in or near the red zone.

The seventh-year kicker doesn't appear to be doing much differently in terms of preparation. Special teams coordinator Shawn Slocum says Crosby is in a good place with his rhythm and mechanics.

Crosby endured a training camp competition after a league-worst 63.6 percent success rate last season. He outlasted two other candidates.

Now he's a reliable option again headed into the Packers' Monday night showdown against the Chicago Bears.
