CALEDONIA, Minnesota (WXOW) – After spending two days documenting the crash site, federal authorities have removed the small plane that crashed near Caledonia Friday and killed three people.
The victims are Joel Garrett, 79, of Troy, Michigan, Dale Garrett, 49, of Berkely, Michigan, and John Bergeron, 50, of Birmingham, Michigan.
The sole survivor is Joseph Steven, 61, of Bloomfield, Michigan.
Stevens was airlifted Gundersen Health System. The Houston County Sheriff's Office said he suffers serious injuries, but no further information is available.
The National Transportation Safety Board said the twin-engine Piper Aztec was traveling from Troy, Michigan to South Dakota.
As of Saturday, investigators have not given a cause for the crash. They expect a preliminary report to be released in about five days.
The Houston County Sheriff's Office and NTSB are looking to talk to anyone who has information regarding the crash, or witnessed the crash.
