Packers get ready with Wallace at QB for Rodgers

Posted: Updated:

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Packers are back at practice with a new quarterback taking the first-team snaps.

Injured Aaron Rodgers could only watch while Seneca Wallace ran through drills Wednesday.

Coach Mike McCarthy says Rodgers is helping out Wallace as much as possible. McCarthy hopes Wallace will benefit from a full week of running the offense instead of the handful of snaps he used to take in practice behind Rodgers.

The franchise quarterback has a fractured left collarbone. Green Bay has called Rodgers "week to week," and there's no exact timetable for his return except that McCarthy says it's not season-ending.

For now, it appears that Wallace will be running the show Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. He'll be making his first start since Jan. 1, 2012, when he was with the Cleveland Browns.
