Seneca Wallace leaves game with groin injury, Scott Tolzien Steps In

Posted:

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Packers quarterback Seneca Wallace left Sunday's game with the Philadelphia Eagles after the team's first series with a groin injury and did not return.

That left Green Bay with Scott Tolzien at quarterback with Aaron Rodgers already out with a left collarbone injury.

Wallace, like Rodgers in last week's loss to the Bears, left after the first series. He appeared to get hurt after being chased out of the pocket after completing a third-and-14 pass to Brandon Bostick at the Eagles 35.

Tolzien, who played at Wisconsin in college, was just signed off the practice squad this week.

Tolzien played well considering he was just signed off the practice squad this week. He finished 24 of 39 for 280 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions.

"We had a lot of tough situations today, no excuses," coach Mike McCarthy said. "I thought Scott Tolzien played as well as could be expected."  Tolzien played well considering he was just signed off the practice squad this week.
