CALENDONIA, Minnesota (WXOW) -- The man at the center of a meth lab explosion near Caledonia that left him in critical condition is recovered well enough to appear in court.

Mark Link made his first appearance in Houston County court Monday. He is formally charged with felony charges of attempted 1st degree manufacture of methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine.

On October 20, The Houston County Sheriff's Office blocked off his residence for a dangerous chemical investigation.

The 50-year-old Link was severely burned in the explosion.

He was first taken to a hospital in La Crosse before being airlifted to a burn unit in Madison in critical condition.

The explosion also heavily damaged the home on County Road 249.

Link is due back in court Wednesday, Nov. 27.
