Operation Christmas Child

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - You have the chance to help a child in another country celebrate Christmas this year, by donating a shoe box gift to Operation Christmas Child. This week is collection week around the country. First Presbyterian Church in La Crosse is collecting shoe boxes until next Monday. The shoe boxes are typically filled with things like pencils, crayons, tooth brushes, and stuffed animals. This is the 20th year of delivering shoe box gifts to children in need around the world. Last year 9.8 million children received gifts, thanks to the program.
Cindi Kyte, Coordinator of the collection center said, "There's so many things we do in La Crosse for our own and that's a wonderful thing, but this is an opportunity to reach a child in a really far away country."
