La Crosse, Wisconsin (WXOW) ---- Tomorrow morning thousands of deer hunters will head out in search of that trophy buck.
Customers at Ace Hardward in La Crosse made a last minute dash for supplies.
Hunting is big business in the Midwest especially in Wisconsin where hunters will spend about 1.4 billion dollars. Many hunters say it's about more than making a kill.
Stuart Sill takes his 2 daughters with him. "It's just time for all of us to get together. It started with our grandparents, my Dad. It's just a family tradition." His daughter, Hailey has been going as long as she can remember. "I think it was when I was 4 years old I went hunting for the very first time I went hunting with my dad and it was actually really fun.
"This year rifles will be allowed statewide during the nine-day gun deer hunting season. The season starts on Saturday and runs until December 1st.
