LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WXOW) - Throughout this week, La Crosse county human service officials are offering assistance for those applying for health insurance through the federal marketplace.
For those seeking coverage that begins January 1st, you will need to enroll by December 23rd and due to the high demand for enrollment, the Western Region Enrollment Network will be making additional Certified Application Counselors available this week for individuals wanting face-to-face assistance for local enrollment.
"we just feel that we really want to help the community. We know that it's law now that everybody has to carry insurance and a lot of people are confused, a lot of people don't like to work on computers. We just want to be able to help anybody in our community that needs that help," says Tricia Wavra, assistant manager and economic support at La Crosse County Human Services.
Counselors will be available at the La Crosse County's Administration Center Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3 pm. If you plan on going, make sure to bring your social security numbers and pay stubs or W-2 forms for every household member who needs coverage.
